Anyone can put together a Tinkerbell costume with Tinkerbell costume accessories, or so I thought, but the day I found out I had to dig for some Tinkerbell costume accessories, was the day my sanity started to slip away like so much fairy dust. Tinkerbell crazy children in the four to six age range will be happy with a green dress and some recycled fairy wings; their imaginations will fill in the blanks and they think everyone else’s will too.

But get those kids into the seven to ten age range and you need to get seriously authentic, and quickly. Those Tinkerbell accessories that go along with the costume will make it stand out. In the Lord of the Flies world of small girls, where the word “cool” is the most important adjective, having Tinkerbell costume accessories is desperately important.

So off I go… accessorizing. And since I was starting at zero with no idea what to look for, I did the only thing a man in my situation would do. I waited until the last possible minute and hoped that everyone would forget that I agreed to be the one in my family (of three women and only one other male, who’s two years old and of dubious loyalty) to find the Tinkerbell costume for my demanding little daughter.

Obviously that didn’t work, so I did the next best thing, I started up the old search engine and took the computer for a spin. Naturally Disney came up with their own little retail show and tell, and all things Tinkerbell rolled across the screen: lunch boxes, water bottles, ipod skins, jackets, pajamas, figurines, posters, snow globes, and even a TV all decked out Tinkerbell style. Two things became very clear to me as I watched this product parade.

One, my children must never, ever, ever go to Disneyland, online or by airplane (it will cost me a fortune) and two, there are a slew of Tinkerbell costume accessories that have nothing to do with the Halloween costume that I was looking for. I got my search engine back on the highway and drove until I got to another turn off, a costume site that sold, you guessed it, costumes, all in the right price range, with all the Tinkerbell costume accessories I could hope for.

Ballet slippers, shoes, purses, bracelets, Tinkerbell candy bags, wands for every taste, and even Tink-Wings eye glasses! ON SALE! And when my daughter strolls down the street, decked out all Tink Style, she won’t be keeping up with the Joneses, she will be the Joneses.  And for all of you who think I’m turning my daughter into a materialistic, spoiled, immediate gratification type of girl who gets whatever she wants at the snap of her fingers, well I just have one thing to say to you.

This is a costume that costs only a trifle, and you haven’t seen those awesome Disney Tink Wings Glasses.
